This is how to easily add the Google Analytics module to your virtualmin installation

SSH into your machine and execute this command as root:

yum install wbm-virtualmin-google-analytics

Then log on to your Virtualmin Control panel

System Settings >>> Features and Plugins

Check the

Scroll to the bottom and click

You will now be able to use it from your Virtualmin just as you would the other analytics modules.

If you are unable to install the Module via Yum and get the following error

Setting up Install Process

No package wbm-virtualmin-google-analytics available.

Error: Nothing to do

try the manual method:

To install log into your Virtualmin and go to:  Webmin >> Webmin Configuration >> Webmin Modules

Then in the install from URL area add :

http://download.webmin.com/download/plugins/virtualmin-google-analytics.wbm.gz

and then install. It should work now.

If that URL does not work try to get the url from here http://www.webmin.com/cgi-bin/search_third.cgi?category=Virtualmin

or even download it manually and install it with the above method but use “From Local File”

  • Now I have a question about Virtualmin Google Analytic module breaking my fancybox with:
    setTimeout(‘document.location = “‘ + link.href + ‘”‘, 100);

Is there a way to edit the module so it uses a different google standard tracking script?

  • tested working from epel 7 repo: # yum install mod_perl
mod_perl version 2.0.8 works without breaking apache 2.4+

    1. Hi Sankar – yes you will get that error when trying to install the Virualmin Google Analytics plugin if you have changed your yum repositories from the default Virtualmin Repositories.

You can try to get the file from the following location and installing via the Webmin interface

To install go to Webmin >> Webmin Configuration >> Webmin Modules

Then in the install from URL add : http://download.webmin.com/download/plugins/virtualmin-google-analytics.wbm.gz

It should install the module and then it should work.

  • Thanks, I was in dire need of this information. And you were right on the money. Thanks for your information!!
